Create multi-panel comics with editable text, image frames, visual styles, preview, image export, and JSON project save/import.

What this tool does

Comictool is a browser-based comic planner for arranging image and text frames into a selectable panel layout. Each frame can be edited, styled, previewed, and included in an exported comic image.

Who this is for

How to use this tool

  1. Write story notes and choose a panel layout such as 1x3, 2x3, or 3x3
  2. Import an image into a frame or edit the frame’s text and styling controls
  3. Use Preview to inspect the assembled comic, optionally with grid lines
  4. Save and Export as PNG, JPEG, WebP, or animated GIF
  5. Use Save/Export’s JSON project file to preserve the layout, or Import it later

Inputs

Inputs include story notes, panel layout, imported image files, frame text, and per-frame brightness, contrast, saturation, grayscale, sepia, rotation, scale, font, color, and padding settings.

Outputs

The app renders an editable panel grid and a preview canvas. Save and Export downloads the finished image in PNG, JPEG, WebP, or GIF format and also saves a JSON project file. Import accepts a JSON project or an image for the selected frame.
